ICT Focus
ICT Focus, the education and training unit within InfoLab21, offers a range of advanced technical training courses in applications development and in systems and network administration.
Their range of courses include Microsoft and Linux training as well as Project and Service Management courses (PRINCE2 & ITIL).
A new Masters Degree in Cyber Security, accredited through the School of Computing & Communications, is available from October 2010 and can also be taken as a part-time postgraduate certificate/diploma.
ICT Focus is an accredited EC-Council approved training centre which enables them to deliver a range of security courses (including Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator).
Our Aim
ICT Focus aims to help people realise the potential of their use of technology within their organisations and to provide affordable high-quality advanced IT training for industry.
Our Staff
Teaching staff in ICT Focus have in-depth technical knowledge and a wealth of practical experience, which they use not only to enhance people's technical expertise but also to share best practice and discuss the potential impact of emerging technologies on their businesses in order to assist businesses to retain their competitive edge.
Our Clients
The department works closely with IT Professionals in schools and colleges and with local councils, SMEs or IT teams from larger organisations. While the majority of course attendees live or work in the Northwest, people have travelled from all over the UK - and even from as far as Austria!
Staff in ICT Focus work closely with the University's Knowledge Business Centre, with local Business Links, and the Lancaster ICT Cluster.
Our Rates
ICT Focus course rates are highly competitive as we are a not-for-profit organization. The unit works with IT professionals to deliver the skills and knowledge needed within the industry.
